Empezo como algo familiar sin mayores pretenciones, pero nunca inmaginaron el exito que llegarian mas tarde . Su primer disco lanzado el 2002 llamado "30 seconds to mars " (homónimo) obtuvo buenas criticas pero solo alcanzo las 100.000 copias. Estos chicos siguieron trabajando, y en el 2003 se les unio a ellos Tomo , gano una audicion para ser el nuevo guitarrista del grupo. Y finalmente el 30 de agosto del 2005 lanzaron el album A BEAUTIFUL LIE, producido por Josh Abraham, lo que trajo de la mano la consagracion del grupo, desde ese momento no han parado de ganar premios y realizar tours, es que todo el mundo quiere verlos y escucharlos , este tipo de grupo ya no se veia hace vario años,ademassu vocalista Jared con su registro vocal deja atonito a todo aquel que lo escucha, pasa de muy altos a muy bajos sin tener desafinacion alguna, eso no se veia desde la era de Bon Jovi.
